Located in Barnsley town centre The Cooper Gallery homes a
permanent collection of 17th to 20th century paintings, watercolours
and drawings contributed as gifts from benefactors with a love of
their home town; Samuel Cooper, Sir Michael Sadler, Thomas Fox
and Roland Addy. The Gallery hosts a number of events throughout
the year consisting of music events, poetry readings, workshops
and community events.
The gallery holds a regular programme of contemporary art
exhibitions featuring work by local and regional designers and artists.
Situated in the Cooper Gallery the Down to Earth café is on hand to
offer light meals and refreshments. |
